World-class solar plant in the heart of the Free State, serving ordinary South Africans

Located in the Free State Province, the Damlaagte Solar Farm project is a 97.5 MW solar photovoltaic power generation plant consisting of a PV facility and 132kV overhead line connecting from the onsite substation to an Eskom substation.

A 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is in place with two private Buyers, with the electricity to be provided on a wheeled basis. The project reached financial close at the end of 2023, and is currently in construction, with commercial operation due to commence in 2025.
